When are the Tryouts?
Look for specific details regarding auditions for the upcoming season around Sept.-Oct. 2010. Dancers selected at the Preliminary round of auditions will be required to schedule an interview by appointment only at the Orlando Titans office the following week.
What Should I Bring to the Tryout?
You will be required to bring a recent headshot (not returnable), a resume of dance and work experience, and a $25 registration fee of cash or check only ($15 fee for those who pre-register).
What Should I Wear to the Tryout?
Participants should wear a dance or athletic half top (stomach must be showing), hot pants or shorts (no full length pants), dance shoes or tennis shoes with non-marking soles, along with either flesh tone hose, tights or fishnets. Participants should have performance-ready hair and make-up.
What Is The Preliminary Tryout Format?
After registration is completed, participants will be taught a routine. Participants will then perform the routine in either groups of two or three in front of a panel of judges.
How Long Will the Tryout Last?
Participants should count on at least three hours, but total time will be based on total number of participants.
What Type of Individuals are You Looking For?
We are looking for well rounded individuals polished individuals, because this is a professional dance team and not a cheerleading squad, we looking for individuals with previous dance training and experience in jazz and hip-hop. Ballet, modern and tumbling skills are a bonus. Individuals should be professional and mature with a high-degree of physical fitness and appearance. Dancers will also be selected based on their interview scores. Desired qualities include high-energy, out-going & friendly personality, positive attitude at all times, and showmanship!
What Are The Time Commitments Of An Orlando Titans Dancer?
Dancers must be able to perform at every Orlando Titans home game. The Titans will play a total of eight home games from January-April, plus possible playoff games in May. Homes games are held on Friday or Saturday nights. Dancers will be required to be at the Amway Arena by 4:30 pm on home game nights. Please check the home game schedule on the Titans website. Dancers must also be available to attend scheduled practices during the season which will be two nights per week (most likely Tues./Thurs. evenings) and should be available for scheduled promotional appearances and special events.
Do the Dancers Get Paid?
Dancers will be paid a fee per home game worked. The dance team does not get paid for rehearsals. Titans dancers will be asked to donate their time to charitable events and Titans appearances. The dance team will have partnerships including hair, tanning, eye lash extensions, and personal training.
